National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT

National Security Authority established the National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT by transformation of the National Unit SK-CERT.    

By establishing the National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT (www.sk-cert.sk) the Authority performs the task of the Action Plan of Cybersecurity Concept Implementation of the Slovak Republic within the years 2015 -2020.    

“Building the capabilities of the Slovak Republic in the field of cybersecurity is a top priority for the Authority. The aim of the National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT will be not limited to development of capabilities in cybersecurity incident handling at national level but also it will oversee dissemination and sharing of knowledge and experience in this field and active cooperation with the public, professional associations and the academic sector” said the director of the Authority Mr. Roman Konečný.

The National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT provides not only services connected with handling the security incidents, incident responses and a follow-up recovery of information system operations in cooperation with system owners and providers but also performance of analytical activities, research, dissemination of security awareness and education in the field of cybersecurity. 

A new department will enable creation, management and support of cybersecurity centres, e.g. teaching, education, exercises but also research, and critical infrastructure and essential services areas will be covered as well. The National Cybersecurity Centre SK-CERT will focus on more intense cooperation, currently being in a good state, in these areas, particularly with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Informatization, Slovak Information Service and Military Intelligence.  

The National Security Authority (www.nbu.gov.sk) is the central government body for Protection of Classified Information, Cryptographic Services, Cybersecurity and Trust Services. The Authority is the national Point of Contact for cybersecurity for the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

The National Unit SK-CERT, being established on 1 February 2018 within the National Security Authority, is an accredited member of Trusted Introducer organization and at the same time the member of FIRST (Forum of Incident Response Security Teams) organization with the global membership of 490 teams from 92 countries.
