In 2021, the National Security Authority published an action plan for cyber security. Thanks to it, Slovakia has a comprehensive process of developing this area in all aspects: capacity building, coordination between organizations and also education.
The Cyber Security Competence and Certification Centre (KCCKB), a contributory organization of the NSA, has been granted additional role. The Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) has issued an accreditation decision to the center to verify the professional competence of cyber security managers.
“The new accreditation is the culmination of several month of the work of KCCKB. I am very pleased that we are the first entity in Slovakia to perform a certification test for future cyber security managers,” said Ivan Makatura, CEO of KCCKB.
In the final report, the commission stated that the KCCKB had demonstrated compliance with the requirements of ISO / IEC 17024: 2012 for the performance of assessment according to the valid certification scheme. The commision has granted accreditation to the full extent required.
The Cyber Security Competence and Certification Centre is currently working on the first dates of the certification exams.
“We recommend those interested in certification to undergo specialized training before the exam, designed for future cyber security managers. Based on experience from other certification exams, we can say that the training significantly increases the success rate on the exam,” added Miroslav Havelka, director of the education department.
The procedure for certification applicants is listed on the KCCKB website.
