The National Security Authority shared its experience with Azerbaijan on cybersecurity
From November 15 to November 16, 2018, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Technologies of Azerbaijan, the European Commission organized a Workshop on Cyber Security: Challenges, Trends and Best Practice From the EU. The event took place in Baku in the context of strengthening relations between the EU and Azerbaijan using a TAIEX instrument of the European Commission intended to provide technical assistance and the exchange of information with EU non-member partner states.
The aim of the workshop was to offer to Azerbaijan European expertise on adopting measures aimed at the security of networks and information systems. Participants of the workshop discussed in open way with EU experts on their experience in the creation of strategy, action plan and legislation in the area of cybersecurity.
Slovak participant provided the audience with information on concrete steps and procedures implemented in the Slovak Republic, which enabled to establish a functional institutional and legislative framework of cyber security. This was reached in 2018 by passing the Act on Cybersecurity. In the European context it is important to stress that by approval of the Act on Cybersecurity, the Slovak Republic was one of the first EU member state that met the requirement for NIS transposition.
