The National Security Authority Team gained the first place in the international cyber exercise

On January 24th and 25th 2018 the conference SecOps Europe 2018 took place in Budapest. During the conference there was an international exercise for national CERT units in the area of cybersecurity. Involved teams had to pass various tasks during simulated attack including OS Linux hardening, malware identification and removal of access tools of an adversary.

Technical exercise was carried out by four teams: SK-CERT (Slovak Republic), NÚKIB (Czech Republic), NASK (Republic of Poland) and UniCERT (Republic of Serbia). The team of the National Security Authority reacted on tasks the most successfully and received the first place. In evaluating the results the most important criterion was the speed of proper reaction of each team on each task.

Visitors of the conference had the possibility to attend interesting presentations of well-known professionals in the field of cybersecurity for two days. The National Security Authority provided presentation on challenges concerning building of cybersecurity monitoring centres (SOCs – Security Operating Centres) through open-source tools.

Following CyberEx 2017 cyber exercise, it is another international success of the Authority in the field of cybersecurity. Participation on exercises not only deepens practical skills of participants but also offers advantage to build international cooperation in solving real incidents.
